Wen bows out

China's Premier Wen bows after delivering a speech during the opening ceremony of National People's Congress at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing

China can spend its way to at least 7.5% GDP growth this year, if necessary, to beat its official target, but what the country needs to sustain the next phase of its growth is more market-oriented structural reforms and a rebalancing of the economy away from state-driven investment and more towards private consumption.
